Kelsey Gutierrez is a poet, a teacher, an editor, and a writing tutor. She serves as the senior poetry editor of Rip Rap Literary Journal, but takes great interest in all forms of writing. Her greatest influences stem from the works of Sharon Olds, Mindy Nettifee, and Aaron Sorkin.

Named one of Literary Women’s Harriet Williams Emerging Writers for 2019, Kelsey is also the recipient of the William T. Shadden Memorial Award for poetry. In 2015, she placed first in the Santiago Canyon poetry contest and second in their fiction contest. Her poetry has been featured in Written Here: The Community of Writers Poetry Review, Muse, Coe Review, and Broad! Mag.
